a little about alchemy

Why 'Alchemy'? After trading as The Beauty Lounge Salcombe for many years and never being fond of the name I had been thinking about rebranding for some time After having to restructure the business I felt that new beginnings required a fresh start and so Alchemy was born.

"The process of taking something less ordinary and making it extra ordinary"

Alchemy has a few meanings but the one that resonated with me was "The process of taking something less ordinary and making it extra ordinary", sometimes in ways that cannot be explained. I feel this lends itself well to the skincare and confidence journey people can find themselves on but also to the past challenging year of business.

Zoe - Head Alchemist

Zoe started the business back in 2011 and in that time, it has changed considerably.

Zoe's journey started fresh from college without a single client, renting a room in a hair salon and predominantly working with nails and waxing. She soon discovered a love of all things skincare and knew she wanted to expand her knowledge in this area.

In 2014 Zoe took The Beauty Lounge to its own premises in Salcombe where she expanded the business to a talented team of 6. Fast forward to the year 2020 and Zoe had to drastically restructure the business and took this opportunity to scale back and specialise in those treatments she is most passionate about: Skincare & Waxing.

Today, trading as Alchemy Clinic, Zoe offers advanced skin therapies and consultations alongside waxing services and believes strongly in the benefits of educating clients on how to make better skin care choices and the role that diet, nutrition and lifestyle play in skin health.

In an industry that is constantly evolving she knows how important it is to refresh her knowledge and study which leaves her confident to tackle to the most complex of skin concerns.

With a waiting list of over 2 weeks, her passion as a facialist is evident.

Qualifications: Full level 2 and level 3 in beauty Therapy. Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Skin Therapies including Chemical peeling, Mesotherapy, Radio Frequency, LED Therapy and Microneedling.
