Many of us develop small skin blemishes and benign skin lesions over time. Whilst these are usually harmless, they can affect confidence, become irritated by clothing or jewellery, or simply become something you'd rather be without.
At Alchemy, we offer safe and effective removal of a wide range of benign skin lesions using two advanced treatment methods: Cryotherapy (CryoPen™) and Advanced Electrolysis.
Rather than asking you to choose a treatment, your lesion will first be carefully assessed and the most appropriate method selected based on its type, size, location and appearance. This ensures the safest treatment and the best possible outcome for your skin.
Both treatments are minimally invasive, require very little downtime and can often achieve excellent results in as little as one treatment session, although some lesions may require additional treatments.
CryoPen™ uses a precise, high-pressure jet of nitrous oxide (rather than liquid nitrogen) to rapidly freeze unwanted tissue. This highly targeted treatment destroys the lesion whilst minimising damage to the surrounding healthy skin.
Cryotherapy is commonly used to treat:
Treatment is extremely quick for many benign lesions, with most taking only a matter of seconds to treat. However, treatment times vary depending on the type of lesion being removed. Warts and verrucae require significantly longer treatment times than most cosmetic lesions and are therefore priced separately.
Unlike skin tags and other benign skin lesions, warts and verrucae are caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Whilst Cryotherapy is a highly effective treatment option, these lesions are often more resistant to treatment and it is completely normal for multiple treatment sessions to be required.
Cryotherapy works by freezing the infected tissue, encouraging your body's immune system to recognise and eliminate the virus. As every immune system responds differently, the number of treatments required varies from person to person.
Most clients should expect treatments to be carried out every 2–4 weeks, with larger, older or plantar verrucae often requiring a course of treatments before complete resolution. Extensive or mosaic verrucae, or more than 10 lesions, will require a consultation for a personalised quotation.
Advanced Electrolysis uses a fine probe to deliver a controlled thermolysis current, allowing unwanted lesions to be cauterised or gently lifted away with precision.
It is particularly effective for superficial skin blemishes and vascular lesions, often producing immediate visible improvement.
Advanced Electrolysis is commonly used to treat:
During your appointment, as many suitable lesions as can be safely treated will be removed within your allocated treatment time.
We can safely treat a wide range of benign skin lesions, including:
Following assessment, your practitioner will determine which treatment method is most appropriate for your lesion.
Please note that any suspicious, changing or undiagnosed lesions cannot be treated. You may be advised to seek assessment from your GP or dermatologist before treatment can proceed, and written medical clearance will be required.
Treatment may not be suitable if you:
A consultation will always be carried out before treatment to confirm suitability and determine the safest and most appropriate treatment method.
Follow-up treatments for warts and verrucae are usually recommended every 2–4 weeks until the wart or verruca has resolved. Follow-up treatment fees will be discussed during your initial appointment and are based on the number of lesions requiring continued treatment.
Yes. In most cases, we can advise over the phone, but an in-person consultation ensures we can safely assess your skin and determine the best method. This can be performed on the day of treatment.
Cryotherapy uses cold (nitrous oxide) to freeze the lesion, while Electrolysis uses heat to cauterise or lift away the blemish. Your treatment will be chosen based on the concern.
Yes, there may be a short period of downtime depending on which treatment you have.

Possibly. Some lesions (like warts or age spots) can be stubborn. We limit warts and verrucae to three treatments per lesion. Pigmentation may require multiple sessions depending on the size of the area, you may require alternative treatments such as microneedling or peels.
Yes, within reason. During Electrolysis, as many blemishes as possible are treated in a 20-minute session. With Cryotherapy, lesions are priced individually based on size and number.
