Consultation is required prior to booking. This treatment cannot be booked online.

If this is your first visit to Alchemy, I strongly recommend booking a skin consultation a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the treatment, this gives us the option to discuss your concerns in depth and ascertain suitability for this service as well as discuss other options which may be more suited to you.

Before starting a course of Bio-Microneedling you will need to be on the recommended home care products to thoroughly prepare your skin.

Treatment explained:

This treatment uses 100% natural Spongilla Spicules which are massaged into the skin, creating 3,000,000 microchannels to trigger a wound-healing cascade in the dermis.  This process stimulates your body to regenerate collagen and elastin. 
It can be seen as a powder to the naked eye and as a sharp rod crystal under the microscope.

The spicules are not absorbed by the skin, they stay for up to 72 hours and are then discharged with the outer layer of skin which will peel off.  

Skin will renew within 7 days and achieves natural, safe and effective physical rejuvenation. 

What should I expect during treatment?

The results from this treatment are excellent but it is important to realise that this treatment is uncomfortable.

We are massaging the sponge spicules into the skin which penetrates into the dermis and replaces the need for physical needles. It does feel incredibly abrasive on the skin, we do not use anaesthetic.

There is no visible skin breakage and no bleeding.

After the needling segment of the treatment, a sheet masque containing Hyaluronic acid will be applied and you will then relax under the Celluma LED canopy.

What’s the downtime?

Up to 10 days. 

You will be red after the treatment.

You are likely to feel uncomfortable for up to 72 hours until the spicules have been discharged by the skin.

Although only 25% of clients experience actual skin shedding at their first appointment the likelihood of experiencing this increases with each session, skin must not be picked at or encouraged to shed.

You will be provided with aftercare after each session.

For correction of skin concerns such as melasma, acne and acne scarring at least 4 treatments, 2 weeks apart are required.

Are there different treatments for different skin concerns?

Yes, SQT goes even further than traditional microneedling and has customised the treatments to better cater for different skin concerns. The three available are:

Revitalising:

Perfect for all skin types. The treatment helps to refine skin tone and texture, fade melanin and pigmentation and give an overall rejuvenated appearance. 

Resurfacing: 

Perfect for oily, combination and acne-prone skin as well as skin with scarring or severe textural issues. The treatment aims to improve acne, acne scars, pimples, blackheads and large pores. 

Anti-Ageing: 

Perfect for all skin types and particularly beneficial for age ranges 30-70. The treatment aims to smooth wrinkles and firm your skin while lifting and remodelling it. Improves skin elasticity and rejuvenates from within. 

Your practitioner will decide on the best course of action for your concerns.

This may be unsuitable if you are/have:

• Prone to cold sores (I recommend contacting your Dr for a suppressant)
• Pregnant 
• Claustrophobic (Due to the use of the Celluma panel)
• Using medication known to cause skin sensitivity such as Roaccutane.
• Have any abnormalities of the nervous system, A doctor's note will be required.
• Have been diagnosed with cancer in the past 12 months. A doctor's note will be required.
